How to Design a Small Bathroom

If you own a home with a small bathroom, you must deal with the unique challenges of designing it to make the most of your space. Because of this constraint, you do not have the freedom that a larger room gives you and must employ creative methods. Keep reading to discover special ways to design a small bathroom.
First: Choose the right color scheme
Avoid using prints or loud patterns since they can overwhelm a small space and make it look crowded. Instead, select solid colors that flow well. Lighter shades usually create a more roomy feel than darker tones do, so consider powder blue instead of navy. Also, stay away from strong colors such as bright yellow or red.
Second: Make glass and light work in your favor
If you install a large mirror in your small bathroom, it creates the illusion of additional space. Bring natural light into the room through a window, and use light bulbs that emit warm glows. If your bathroom has a shower, equip it with a sliding glass door. Clear glass makes the room appear bigger, while the door conserves space by sliding sideways instead of opening outward.
Third: Install a small sink
Rather than choosing a bulky sink, save space by adding a tap with a single faucet. A console table with slender legs also contributes a roomy look. Place shelves above or below the sink to hold accessories, but avoid a cluttered appearance by keeping framed pictures and other wall decor to a minimum.
