How to Design a Bathroom

Whether you are working on remodeling multiple areas of your home or you have a special project in mind for your bathroom, finding inspiration and information on how to design a bathroom is possible by using different free resources and by researching bathroom designs and interior decorating ahead of time yourself. Finding the right decor and color scheme for your bathroom is made quick, inexpensive and easy by visualizing your bathroom and also by taking photos of your current space to compare when shopping for paint and new decorations to add to the space.

  1. First: Brainstorming and preparing ahead of time

Brainstorm the type of decor and the overall look you are going for ahead of time before heading out to shop for your bathroom's new design. Preparing ahead of time includes taking photos of your bathroom's current layout so that you have a way to look at your bathroom while shopping for new accessories and paint colors for the new look.

  2. Second: Choosing a color scheme

Choose a color scheme by determining the amount of space you are working with and how much paint you plan to use. If you are decorating a half bathroom, use one to two colors to avoid overloading the amount of color you have in a smaller space. In general, for a bathroom, choose one solid color (or similarly shaded colors including yellow and gold for thick vertical or horizontal stripes) to cover all of the walls and another color for your trim or decorative accessories (whether purchased or handmade).
